Roma is set on 1970, Cleo is a maid in the Colonia Roma ( aka La Roma ) neighborhood of Mexico City working in the house of Sofia, whose inhabitant consist of Sofia’s husband Antonio and their four juvenile children. Sofia’s mother “Teresa” and another household maid “Adela”.

Antonio, a doctor leaves for a conference in Quebec, the territory Canada. Later it was told that Sofia and Antonio’s marriage is strained. Roma didn’t get much of theatrical screens but got widely praised in Venice Film Festival and Roma is Mexican nominee of Best Foreign Film Category. Based on novel ‘Bird Box’ by Josh Malerman written and published on March 27, 2014. Bird Box is a 2018 American post-apocalyptic drama thriller film directed by Susanne Bier from a screenplay written by Eric Heisserer. Birdbox follows a woman Malorie played by Sandra Bullock, along with a pair of children dubbed Boy and Girl, must make it through a forest and river blindfolded to avoid supernatural entities which cause people who see them die by killing themselves.

Netflix originally partnered with four Twitch streamers in performing what they called a Bird Box challenge, in which they would play some popular video games while blindfolded in Australia. Birdbox received a mixed response from critics worldwide, but Netflix loyal viewers accept it with open hands and honestly this attention is really worth it to be listed in best Netflix movie of 2018.

#3.”Set It Up”

Netflix has delivered some rom-com like The Kissing Booth, which received average reviews from audiences and critics. Set It Up directed by debutant Claire Scanlon, written by Katie Silberman and distributed by Netflix in New York and all over the United States. The story follows two workaholic frustrated assistants Kirsten and Charlie, who try to set up their demanding bosses on dates in New York City. In a recent interview, Scanlon mentions the possibility to make a sequel to the movie. Unlike Set It Up is designed as a blockbuster for the crowd-pleasing mass entertainer.

Fourth Best Netflix Movies of 2018 is Annihilation is the most under-appreciated movie of 2018, might be because of its ahead of its time theme. Annihilation is a sci-fi adventure movie written and directed by Alex Garland, based on the novel ‘Annihilation’ by Jeff VanderMeer. Annihilation cast Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.

Across all 3 countries- Canada, United States, and China, it grossed about 43 million USD against a production budget between $40–55 million. Annihilation was digitally released by Netflix in an across the globe on March 12, and gain a much bigger number of audiences. The movie was praised for its direction and thought-provoking story and believable sci-fi theme.

At fictional “Area X”, a government facility on the southern coast of the United States. Lena(Natalie Portman), a  cellular-biology researcher professor, and the former army is in her restricted area. Lena undergoes a debriefing about a four-month exploration into an aberrant luminous color emitted electromagnetic field termed as “the Shimmer”, of which she and her husband Kane (Oscar Isaac) are the only survivors.

Then the story goes to flashback, Kane her husband was a United States Army Special Forces soldier appears in their home after having disappeared on a mission nearly a year ago. Kane remembers nothing of that time and suddenly falls sick. A security force intercepts Kane’s ambulance and shifts him and Lena to Area X, near where the Shimmer had begun to unfurl three years back. The rest of the story is about how would them rescue from Shimmer or not?

#5.”22 July”

22 July directed by Paul Greengrass is a crime drama film about the 2011 Norway attacks and their aftermath, based on the book written by Åsne Seierstad One of Us: The Story of a Massacre in Norway: and Its Aftermath. 22 July was written, directed and produced by Paul Greengrass and features a Norwegian cast and crew which fit perfect.

22 July stars Anders Danielsen Lie, Jon Øigarden, Thorbjørn Harr, Jonas Strand Gravli, Ola G. Furuseth, Isak Bakli Aglen, Ulrikke Hansen Døvigen, Maria Bock and Seda Witt. 22 July had its world premiere on September 5, 2018, in the main competition section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival.

22 July begins on July 21, 2011, a day before the attacks. The subsequent day, Anders Behring Breivik(Anders Danielsen Lie) dresses in a police uniform, loads a van with home-made deadly explosives, and drives to Regjeringskvartalet, the executive government quarter in Oslo. Anders leaves the vehicle outside the office of Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. Moments later, it explodes, causing several fatalities, then the story turned different.
