1.Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden gyrates throughout Auto Memory Dolls people initially employed by a scientist Dr. Orland to accommodate his blind wife Mollie in writing her books and later rented out to other people who needed their services. In the present day, the term “Auto Memory Dolls” refers to the industry of writing for others. The plot follows Violet Evergarden’s journey of reintegrating back into society after the war is over and her search for her life’s purpose now that she is no longer a soldier. Violet Evergarden is the first Netflix anime in our list of “Favorite Anime of 2018”.

The main antagonist ‘Violet’ is a newcomer to the CH Postal Company and works as an Auto Memory Doll. She works as a ghostwriter for people who cannot write or are looking for help expressing their emotions as writer block in letters. As a reckless and nameless child, ‘Violet Evergarden’ was found by navy officer Dietfried Bougainvillea.

Her combat skill was realized when she killed several soldiers who attempted to rape her before he could stop them, and when she proceeded to kill the rest of the soldiers present. Later, Dietfried had brought Violet home and “gave” her to his brother Gilbert in the army as a gift for his publicizing to major, intending for Gilbert to use her as a weapon for war while not wanting to handle Violet himself.

2.Mr. TONEGAWA Middle Management Blues

It was based on a Japanese manga series written by Tensei Hagiwara and illustrated by Tomohiro Hashimoto and Tomoki Miyoshi. It is a spin-off of the main series Kaiji by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. Mr. TONEGAWA Middle Management Blues ran for 24 episodes.

The first episode begins with a recap of the previous Kaiji series, introducing the president of the Teiai group, Kazutaka Hyōdō and his No.2 man, Tonegawa Yukio with his all-circumscribe powers of observation and demonic mental courage.

Following his demeaning loss to Kaiji, Mr. Tonegawa was forcefully imposed to undergo the Roasting Kneeling punishment. The spin-off plot begins in the time before Mr. Tonegawa encountered Kaiji when he is working in the amount due collection section of the Teiai Finance group.

3.A Place Further Than the Universe

This Madhouse anime directed by ‘Atsuko Ishizuka’ tells a story about Mari Tamaki is a second-year high school student who desperately wants to make the most out of her youth but is usually too afraid to do so. A day, Mari meets Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who has been saving up to travel to the South Pole, where her mother fizzles out three years ago. In a team of other two other girls, Hinata Miyake and Yuzuki Shiraishi, they join an expedition headed towards the adventure to the Antarctic.

The fourth anime in our list of Favorite Anime of 2018, is the 12-episode anime television series created by Kinema Citrus is based on Japanese manga which was published in the same year. Revue Starlight aired in Japanese between July 12 and September 27, 2018, broadcasted in TBS and CBS, also in the English language in HiDive.Revue Starlight is directed by Tomohiro Furukawa with series composition by Tatsuto Higuchi and character illustrated by Hiroyuki Saita.

At the Seisho Music Academy, the 99th Graduating Class is practicing for the last production of the theatrical play, ‘Starlight’. Behind the scenes, however, an underground “Revue Starlight” audition, orchestrated by a talking giraffe, pits the students against each other in stage battles in order to shine as the new star. Karen Aijō, upon being reunited with her childhood buddy Hikari Kagura, comes across these auditions and competes to become the top star alongside Hikari.

This ongoing anime ‘Attack on Titan’ based on a manga of the same name which was a big commercial success. The manga has 88 million tankōbon copies in print across the globe(78 million in domestic market Japan and 10 million in Overseas), making it one of the best-selling manga series till the end of 2018. Attack on Titan Season 3 was considered as one of the Best Anime of 2018.

The first episode ‘Smoke Signal/Noroshi’ from where Levi’s squad are now composed of Eren and his remaining friends are camped out in a small house where Hange carries out practical experiments on Eren to check his Titan and hardening skills to seal the wall. Levi doubted that someone in the government has their eyes set on demolishing the Survey Corps and hide the secrets of the Titans.

Hanebado! aka The Badminton Play of Ayano Hanesaki! or Hanebad! by its manga fans, is a sports drama written by Kōsuke Hamada and published in 2013. The series was premiered in July 2018 to October 2018 and run for 13 episodes. This anime series set on the sporting world of badminton, there are eleven badminton champs from different schools and most of them are from Kitakomachi High School. Hanebado an anime series which despite its flaws it should deserve to listed as one of the Best Anime of 2018. Probably, Hanebado is the most polarised anime of our “Favorite Anime of 2018”.

The series introduced with Ayano Hanesaki , a first year in high school and a shy badminton player, following her mother Uchika Hanesaki’s footstep and trained with Uchika for many years. Ayano is in her first year in high school, she is recruited by the retired player and recent coach Kentarō Tachibana to join the badminton club. While there, she learns to overcome her phobia from playing badminton again.

While Nagisa and Riko are the third year players from their school, and Riko is Vice Captain. A day in her middle school Ayano felt cold and ill before an important competitive badminton match and she subsequently lost. It causing her mother to leave her and Ayano to be brought up by her grandparents.

Hanebado also fails to fulfill the expectation of animephiles in the last episode in the way how Ayanos mum was handled in the last episode. Ayano has lost her mother at the end and Uchika doesn’t regret it one bit. Telling fans are expecting Ayano to confront her mum at the end.

This Japanese dark-fantasy anime series stylized as ‘DEVILMAN Crybaby’ based on manga Devilman. DEVILMAN Crybaby was directed by Masaaki Yuasa and series composed by Ichirō Ōkouchi, and premiered on January 5, 2018, available for worldwide streaming on as Netflix Original Series.

DEVILMAN was published in 1973 and Netflix brought rights two years back and alteration are done for modern 21st Century. The plot starts where Akira Fudo is informed by his best buddy, Ryo Asuka, that an old race of demons has returned to take back the world where humanity will be no more. Believing that the only way that can defeat the demons is to subsume their skills, Ryo suggests to Akira that he unite with a demon. Succeeding in doing so, Akira suddenly shapeshifts into Devilman, inducing the skills of a demon but retaining the soul of a human.
