Netflix Delhi Crime Review

Delhi Crime’s first two episodes were premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the Indie Episodic category of 2019. Delhi Crime is based on the 2012 Delhi gang rape case that took place in the neighborhood of Munirka, in South Delhi. The series follows the story in the aftermath of the gang rape, where Deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Vartika Chaturvedi is tasked to find the culprits, responsible for the assaults and death of the victims.

The series begins after two victims of a very brutal unpleasant crime were found naked on the roadside where they get a lift from the public bus, DCP Vartika Chaturvedi assigns only her most trusted officers to lead the investigation. Netflix Delhi Crime not only engaged you but also not hold you to the actual event by not showing the brutal sequence by only narrating through the villains of the series. And also make full justice to all characters from the actual events from all of the sides, from the personal problem face by the police officers from juniors to seniors.

The story goes at a smooth pace from the second episode but breaks in the last moment of the fourth episode. The characters show in first is not exactly what we think or they don’t deserve the sympathy that we had for them. By the end of the fourth season, the police force had a major issue with their own case but the next episode focus goes on something else and also by the end that character does not deserve what they what should be punished even he had done crime in the past in abroad.

Definitely, Delhi Crime is Netflix best after “Sacred Games”, while other shows disappoint the hype created by Sacred Games.  One more unique thing of the movie is the showrunners didn’t keep any name for each respective episode of the series. However, the series didn’t end with any major cliffhanger but it was expected to have more seasons ahead with the same cast with a different true event crime happened in Delhi or nearby.
