In an interview of Spyder Mahesh Babu with Rajeev Masand, he said AR Murgadoss has two kind of movie – a message-oriented like Ramana and Katthi where the other is action thriller like Ghajini. So, in short, Sarkar is the first kind of AR Murgadoss.

Sarkar Tamil Movie Review

Sarkar is an out and out Vijay film that has laced with mass punch lines and well-choreographed action scenes. director AR Murugadoss for the third time with Thalapthy Vijay, Sarkar lacks the power of Thupakki and sharpness of Kaththi.

The story and screenplay writing lacks depth and is highly non-sense in many places, with too many cinematic liberties taken by the director to justify his story. Many of us we realized that that subject is not relevant anymore and the story hardly has any twist. I wouldn’t say Sarkar is the comeback of Murgadoss after Spyder.

Sarkar Tamil Movie Story

Sundar Ramasamy (Vijay), the CEO of a leading California-based info-tech giant GL. He is known as a “corporate monster” and takeover connoisseur who bolt up rival competitor companies with his smart marketing ideas. The moment he steps in India, companies suspect that he is looking to take over some leading local corporate.

But it was not correct out that Sundar is in Chennai to cast his vote in State assembly elections, as he believes his vote is valuable to Indian judiciary. However, Sundar noticed at the election booth, he finds out that somebody has already cast his vote.

We’ve seen in earlier Indian movies where an NRI came in India. And that guy got focused on India’s problem and sticks to them. Sometimes he fights for the society or he came in politics. This plot is used in Swadesh, Sivaji, Leader, Bharat Ane Nenu and NOTA. But reminds you it’s Vijay’s movie with massy elements where Thalapathy Vijay is had to play himself.

Annoyed Sundar collects the best legal knowledgeable persons in the country, approaches the High Court and uses the little known 49(P) section to convince in High Court. This sets traditional politicians — headed by kingmaker and a Machiavellian former chief minister Masilamani (Pala.Karuppiah) and his mattock Rendu (Radha Ravi), now they are targeting for Sundar. The scuffle leads to a more false vote, known as “Bogus Vote” in a political word. This leads many people like Sundar complaints and finally, the Election Commission is forced to conduct re-election in all the 234 seats in Tamil Nadu.

Sarkar is worth a look for a couple of sequences, where most of the characters are useless instead of the main hero and villain. Sarkar’s actress Keerthi Suresh has nothing to do in the part of the core of the story. Keerthi after Mahanati, Sarkar is something she should avoid. AR Rahman has done a fine job, but in terms of his mass music Sarkar soundtrack is not Sivaji or Vijay’s previous blockbuster “Mersal”.
