Bollywood Film Industry is generally known for star-driven industry more than the content. The content always remains underrated movies even if a big star movie. Even though this year have been so many surprises or done exceptionally well at the box office like Raazi, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Parmanu, etc. We are counting down the underrated movies which did not give a great chance even after the positive word of mouth. Varun Dhawan starrer “October” has been a profitable venture, but it takes a very slow started at the box office around 50 Million INR in the first day but later picked up due to its positive feedback from the class audience and critics stated as one of the finest art house movies of recent time. This Indo-Canadian drama film directed by Sanjay Patel who is known for his debut short film “If You Love Your Children,” which won 18 awards. Union Leader is titled initially as Kamdar Union. The film stars Rahul Dev in the lead delivering a clap worthy performance. The film released in almost 100 screens on 19 January 2018 in India with positive reviews.
Omera was written in 2004 by the actor Mukul Dev, and it takes almost 12 years to start pre-production. This underrated film made on a huge price for an indie film of 180 Million Indian Rupees and recovers only 40 Million gross collections. Omerta is highly praised in film festivals but remains an underrated movie of this year. Omerta is based on Ahmed Omar Saeed Shaikh; two incident explores in the film – 1994 kidnapping of westerns in India and murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl.
One more sports drama from Bollywood after films like Sultan and Dangal are blockbuster in Domestic, and Worldwide Box Office, Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz released with two more films on 12 January 2018 with substantial critical reception, NDTV and Hindustan Times gave 4.5 and 4 ratings out of 5,first day collection was about 20 Million but later picked up due to positive word of mouth and ended on 105 Million at the box office and becomes a profitable venture. Vineet Kumar Singh, the lead actor of the film written the story of the film 5 years back. This film is one of the finest film produced by Phantom Films.

Karwaan is a hindi road trip black comedy film starring Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salman and Irrfan Khan delivering there best performance of there career. Dulquer Salmaan is known for slice of a lice film, and director Akarsh Khurana choose him for the right role, Akarsh has directed “High-Jack” starring Sumeet Vyas in lead which was stated as painful by most of the critics but Karwaan received excellent reviews and stated as an honest film of the year, but unfortunately the film clashes with two more films and had a weak opening but later picked on weekend upto 30-50%.
It’s good to see an international director working in an Indian story, Iranian director Majid Majidi who directed the cult children film “Children of Heavens” which remade in Hindi as “Bumm Bumm Bole” directed by Priyadarshan but did not do well as the original. Ishaan Khatter makes his debut with this film and give a compelling performance but still audience like to watch Dharma Productions “Dhadak”.
Padman was a 90 crore grosser at the domestic box office, and that is not a significant number for an Akshay Kumar starrer movie and makes another movie as underrated movies on our list. This R. The problem with this film is most of the dialogues are in regional language or. Akshat Verma debut film as a director makes an impressible entertaining film. This is rare to see an A-list Bollywood actor to do this kind of film. Kaalakandi released on the same day along with by Mukkabaaz and horror flick 1921, besides all of the three films 1921 makes more impact at the box office even most of the audience panned the film.

Abhinay Deo is known his first movie which was “Delhi Belly” the cult adult comedy film then he never touched this genre again he focused on action thrillers like Game, Force 2 and the TV Series “24” (an adaptation of American tv-series 24),which projects was not acclaimed as Delhi Belly, Blackmail trailer released with a hype it doesn’t meet the expectation still makes a watchable film.

One more film produced by Phantom Films, Indian Superhero films are always over the top and made for the especially mass audience, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is India’s first dark superhero film. In a scene, Harsh Kapoor introduces his alter ego to his friend as “We are from DCEU, we are dark, edgy and cool”.The stunts choreographed by Barrier 13 fame french actor Cyrill Raphaeli are award-worthy.
